About Information and Advice

SCILL's Information and Advice service opened in 1996 and has built into a comprehensive and well-used service offering accurate, up to date local and national information and advice on any topic linked to all disabilities and community care. Over the years our team of staff and volunteers have built a wealth of experience and have dealt with over 50,000 enquiries. Once a customer has used our service most return to use us time and time again knowing that they can find the right support, guidance and information.
There is much more to our service than meets the eye:
All our information is available in a number of different ways in order to ensure that everyone can access it.
We support our customers with their support plans by guiding and enabling them to find activities, housing options, holidays, equipment etc. which can be used to plan how to spend a personal budget and direct payments.
We can research funding streams for individuals which they may not be aware of and which could support them to pay for equipment, holidays, travel etc.
We help our customers to report hate crimes, contact the local police station and the equalities and human rights commission.
We take our services out and about to seek out hard to reach people and communities to see if our service can help in any way.
We offer a place to trial equipment and bring in specialists for our customers to talk to.
We go out into the community talking to groups and taking part in events.
If you need our services or would like us to visit your group please contact us on 020 8770-4065 or information@scill.org.uk or click here to make an enquiry.
