Staff at SCILL

Sutton Centre for Independent Living and Learning (SCILL) is a charity based in Sutton, Surrey. SCILL offers a wide range of services and activities for disabled people and their carers. SCILL offers a great working environment with staff and volunteers committed to offering the best service possible.

When a new staff member joins the organisation, they are offered an induction which reviews what support and training they may need for their role as well as being introduced to all the departments within SCILL. Each new staff member will work towards their own objectives as well as the objectives of the organisation. In addition to this, new staff members will be assigned a staff mentor who they will have regular meetings to discuss their work and to gain support and advice in their new role.
Each staff member receives regular one-to-ones and an annual appraisal. This gives staff the opportunity to discuss their work, what they have achieved over the year and what they would like to improve upon. Training needs are identified at these meeting.
SCILL has the Investors in People accreditation and is dedicated to offering the people who work here the chance to develop and reach their full potential.
All new staff receives disability awareness training and other training linked to disability and equality. We also support staff in completing professional qualifications including NVQ's which have been identified in one-to-ones or appraisals. These can include NVQ's in Business Administration and Health and Social Care.
