Self Directed Support User Group

In addition to our regular collection of feedback and consultations; we currently have two dedicated groups who meet regularly, one of which is the Self Directed Support User Group.
The Self Directed Support User Group
The Transforming Social Care agenda is about encouraging choice and control to people using social care services. Part of this is giving people the opportunity to manage their lives through taking control of their social care budget (direct payments or personal budget).
The User Group meets once a month for around two hours in a place chosen by them. Each member of the group all use direct payments and personal budgets, they gather together to share their experiences in order to see how they can improve things for people who are new to managing their own social care budgets. They scrutinise and contribute to Council policy and procedures relating to Self Directed Support and play an important role in making sure that any information materials which are produced are clear and written in a way that helps people to understand their budget and how it works.
If you would like to join the group please telephone 020 8770-4045 or email iss@scill.org.uk.
