Doctors referred me to SCILL. When I had my injuries I was unable to do anything for myself. I was being fed through my throat tube in my nose, and I could not move my legs, only my toes.
It was only when I left rehab that I was able to stand up. Being at SCILL helped me get up in the morning, socialise more, and build up my confidence. At first I weighed over 15 stone and I now weight just 12 stone. I can now do so many more things for myself. Meeting people with disabilities helped me to overcome my lack of confidence. I now enjoy coming to SCILL every week. SCILL helps people to get stronger, and also rebuilds their lives. I just wish the SCILL gym was open a lot more. It has helped me build my confidence, and I now volunteer to help others in the gym three mornings a week. SCILL is the best place to go to help people build up confidence.
